Description
The Product Engineer is responsible for designing products and corresponding manufacturing processes. The Product Engineer is responsible for transitioning the product from design to manufacturing at scale, delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Responsible for daily support in production activities and drive improvements in a fast paced, collaborative environment. Will be responsible to solve problems where analysis of a situation is required in order to meet the requirements of the customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs and performs product tests on newly developed products and existing products; documents test results; performs analyses.
  • Designs new and revised products to customer specifications.
  • Designs prototypes for testing and testing programs, leading to successful new product launches.
  • Designs and development of company products that fit into the Indoor Air Quality industry
  • Assists in conducting laboratory analyses of equipment for heat transfer, fan output, filtration efficiency and electrical safety.
  • Assists in the Design, Control and Calibration element of the company’s ISO quality system.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Strong aptitude combined with knowledge in thermodynamics, mass transfer/heat transfer and mechanical Design.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC fundamentals.
  • Willingness to be hands-on, go on the production floor.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing process development and/or new product introduction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities are required in documenting inspection results, interpreting test results and must be able to prepare results of inspections for referral to others.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of product specifications, wiring specifications and production processes, and end user requirements.
  • Ability to use, effectively and efficiently, specialized testing equipment, tools and other measurement devices.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Inventor.
  • Creative abilities are important in product development, especially in designing new products and devising new applications for the company’s products.
  • Manual dexterity, speed, accuracy, attention to detail and hand-eye coordination is essential.
  • Delivers results.
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve.
  • Engages and inspires.
