Description
The Quality Manager is responsible to ensure quality systems and processes are in place to make certain that existing and new products meet established high-quality standards. Focus will be on the enhancement of the respective systems and processes to improve product quality and support flawless execution. Responsibilities to maintain and advance the QMS to ensure it promotes good business practices and conformance to applicable ISO requirement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and improve systems and processes to improve product quality.
  • Maintain and enhance tracking of and systems for internal and external quality KPI’s.
  • Analyze operational & quality data to drive corrective actions & continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in problem solving & root cause analysis to improve product quality & quality related processes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to other departments and special teams.
  • Create, populate, and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, and related quality documents.
  • Support employee training in the proper application of gauging, testing, first-off and in-process inspections.
  • Identify error-proofing opportunities and lead cross-functional team implementations.
  • Prepare and perform effective internal and supplier quality audits.
  • Support the disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Lead COQ projects using operational, and warranty data.
  • Drive the development, qualification, and implementation of inspection, testing, and measurement equipment.
  • Provide input to the development of operator work instructions.
  • Develop training material and conduct training on relevant subjects and methodologies.\
  • Prepare and present reports to team members and management, as required.
  • Maintain and enhance the QMS and the ISO corrective actions systems.
  • Maintain the Supplier Non-Conformance system, driving supplier actions for continuous improvement.
  • Act as the quality liaison with ISO auditor/registrar, customers & third-party quality organizations.
  • Provide quality related support to new product launches – DFM, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, etc.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the manager.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a quality manager role.
  • Post-secondary education and/or certification in quality management.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge/experience with implementation of quality tools and processes.
  • Internal ISO auditor certificate – Lead auditor preferred.
  • Six Sigma certification – preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with demonstrated diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Ability to work well individually and / or as part of a cross functional team.
  • Strong capabilities with MS Office tools, particularly data manipulation in XL.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively execute on value creating projects to achieve identified targets.
  • Strong working knowledge of quality systems.
  • Exceptional facilitation skills to lead effective team meetings and projects.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision and be self-directed.
